Potential outbreak in Arukun Australia
According to a recent report a drunk mob roving the streets of Arukun Australia was attacking people and police officers. ZombieMeter correspondents, realizing that the undead are often reported as drunk looked into the event.

Apparently the drunken mob was attacking people, and then turned on the police when they drew attention to themselves. This could potentially describe a zombie outbreak. The article reported that:

Sergeant Greg Giles yesterday said he fled the angry mob as...

Lock Up Your Ducks!
An allegedly drunk man bit the head off of a tame duck in a Minnesota hotel. When asked why, he simply stated, "I'm hungry. I'm gonna eat it."

Zombie experts at ZombieMeter have analyzed the security tapes from the hotel and have determined that the man may be in fact suffering the first signs of a zombie infection.

Although this is the first reporting of a suspected zombie attacking non-humans, it may not be the last.

ZombieMeter analysts believe this is likely a zombie-related attack. The man hasn't reported it to police likely because he has expired and turned. His animated corpse may be trapped in his apartment waiting to be released and infect his neighborhood.

ZombieMeter staff encourage people in the Geelong area...

Brawl Starts at a Wake
In recent Australian news, police were called to a brawl that broke out at a wake. Allegedly, 20 people were initially involved, but that number swelled to 80 by the end.

Although the story suggests that the participants were coherent and exhibited few zombie traits, the combination of a recently deceased man present at the wake along with the growing number of participants has alarmed ZombieMeter correspondents. The police seem to have the situation under control now, but residents of Balmain,...

Outbreak in Australia?
About three months ago, the ZombieMeter alert centre received the following email from an alert reader named Louise:

I was over at my mates house in surry hills for a few quite ones when his room mate came through the door he had blood coming down from his hand dripping onto the wooden floor boards. My friend rushed to his aid and patched the open wound up for him and asked how he obtained the wounds. He stated he was coming home when some Looney attempted to probly mug him, who knows and...

Bite attack in Melbourn likely zombie-related
Earlier in January an attack in Melbourne on police officers was likely related to zombie activity.

Two police officers were attacked and bitten several times during an altercation with a man who apparently did not respond to incapacitation attempts. Apparently the man could not be subdued and bit two officers, drawing blood in both cases.

Although this incident is likely contained at the moment, the cause of the outbreak in Melbourne might still be present, so residents should stay...
